Agoura Hills' hillside lots, oak-shaded yards, and Old Agoura horse properties keep us busy with landscape and outdoor lighting, panel and service upgrades, Level 2 EV chargers, and sub-panels for barns, guest houses, and ADUs.
Genius Electric Corp is an owner-operated, 24-hour electrician serving Agoura Hills and the neighboring communities along the 101, between the west San Fernando Valley and the Conejo Valley. Agoura Hills is Southern California Edison (SCE) territory — Clean Power Alliance buys the electricity for most homes here, but SCE still owns the lines and the meter and handles every service upgrade and interconnection. On these hillside lots the outdoor side of the system matters as much as the panel: long runs to the yard, lighting that has to survive the weather, and wind-season outages that make backup power worth planning for. When you call, you get the owner — who shows up, explains your options in plain English, and does the work himself.
Our most recent job here lit up a terraced hillside yard from the stairs to the back fence (see it below). From the equestrian lots of Old Agoura and the estates of Morrison Ranch to Lake Lindero, Hillrise, Liberty Canyon, and Fountainwood, we also handle panel and service upgrades, Level 2 EV chargers and Tesla Wall Connectors, sub-panels for barns, workshops, guest houses, and ADUs, generators and transfer switches, and honest troubleshooting. Every job is done to code, priced fairly up front, and left spotless — day or night.

This terraced hillside yard in Agoura Hills disappeared the minute the sun went down. We lit it end to end — uplights on the palm and oak trunks, lights set along the timber stairs and retaining walls, and wash lights across the back fence. Now the steps are safe to walk after dark and the whole garden looks its best at night. Swipe through the photos.

Lighting InstallationSCE Charge Ready Home
Agoura Hills is in SCE territory, so eligible homeowners can get money back on the panel upgrade and 240-volt circuit an EV charger needs — up to $4,200 through Charge Ready Home for income-qualified households. As an approved contractor, we help you apply, then handle the permit, the paperwork, and a clean install.
Rebates are run by Southern California Edison: you apply and prequalify with them directly, and eligibility and final amounts depend on your household and electrical panel. Ask us when you call.

I have been looking for a reliable electrical guy in the AV for years and I've finally found one! Edgar was great! He was able to come out quickly and gave me a fair price for the work I requested. He did a great job and I really felt like I could trust him. He was respectful of my home and cleaned up after himself before he left. I would highly recommend Genius Electric!
I had a wonderful experience with Genius Electric Corp! Edgar was absolutely fantastic—he was incredibly diligent, professional, and truly took his time to locate and fix the issue I was having. Yes. We'll look at the work, explain your options in plain English, and give you a fair, upfront price before anything begins — no pressure and no surprises.
Yes — we just finished a hillside landscape-lighting job here: uplights on the palm and oak trunks, lights along the timber stairs and retaining walls, and wash lights across the back fence. We lay out and aim the fixtures, run the wiring, add any outdoor circuit or weather-rated outlet the system needs, and set up the controls you want — timers, photocells for dusk-to-dawn, or smart switches. We aim fixtures so the light lands on your yard, not in your neighbors' windows.
Southern California Edison (SCE). Agoura Hills is a Clean Power Alliance city, so Clean Power Alliance buys the electricity for most homes — but SCE still owns the poles, lines, and meter, delivers your power, sends the bill, and handles service upgrades, outages, and reconnections. For a panel upgrade, meter-main, or EV-charger interconnection, SCE is the utility we coordinate with.
Agoura Hills is SCE territory, so your project may qualify for SCE's Charge Ready Home program. It rebates upgrading a panel to 200 amps and installing the dedicated 240-volt circuit a Level 2 charger needs — up to $4,200 for income-qualified households and up to $2,100 for homes in a designated disadvantaged community. SCE sets eligibility and the final amount; you prequalify with them and we handle the rest. Ask when you call, or see our EV rebates page.
Yes. Old Agoura's larger lots and horse properties often have barns, arenas, workshops, guest houses, and pool or well equipment a long way from the main panel. We size and run the feeder, set a sub-panel where the power is needed, add dedicated circuits, and can tie in a generator and transfer switch so the whole property stays powered through an outage.
